About
In 1980, a handful of STC members formed the Atlanta chapter. They began meeting at the Technical Association of the Pulp and Paper Industry facilities, and their discussions were mostly about technical writing standards. Membership grew as the technical communication field evolved, and eventually the chapter moved its meetings to the Marriott Perimeter Center. Today we’re mostly online, just like so many other things in the world. Technical communication now includes everything from printed instruction guides to language translation for mobile app interfaces. We’re excited to see what’s next.
We’re a community of people in Atlanta, Georgia, and beyond, who are involved in technical communication or interested in learning about it. We’re here to network, share ideas, help each other solve problems, and make new friends. Technical communication is part of every industry and includes a surprising number of disciplines: from technical writing and video editing to data science and instructional design. No matter where you fit in, you’ll fit in here.
