FrameMaker SIG

The purpose of the FrameMaker SIG is to enhance the FrameMaker skills of the members through educational programs at the monthly meetings. Topics include FrameMaker features, integration with other applications, and techniques such as indexing, importing graphics, and publishing.

Management SIG

The Management SIG provides a forum for technical communicators who manage documentation projects and are interested in trends and issues related to managing documentation projects. This SIG allows peers to exchange management information relevant to technical communication and focus on policies, techniques and case studies for handling management issues from projects planning to hiring practices. This is not just for managers! It is for anyone who is interested in professional practices and policies that can enhance their career.

New Writers SIG

The purpose of the New Writers SIG is to enhance the writing, editing, and tools skills of writers who are new to the technical communication industry, and promote growth and learning through special programs at regular meetings. The SIG provides ongoing programs for industry standard tools such as Framemaker, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Pagemaker, RoboHelp, RoboDemo, and other technical communication-related topics.

Monday, April 7, New Writers SIG Meeting – Tools Writers Use

Four popular tools that technical writers use will be demonstrated at the next New Writers SIG meeting. Come see demonstrations of MadCap Flare, RoboHelp, Camtasia, and FrameMaker. Experienced writers will be showing how the software is used in real life technical writing projects. Everyone is welcome, and there is no cost.

Southern Polytech University, Marietta, GA.

See you in Room 215 in the Student Center from 6-7:30, Monday, April 7.

Online SIG

The Online Communication SIG provides an opportunity to learn about designing and developing online information--including help, online documentation, Web-based training, and multimedia. The SIG presents quarterly meetings on relevant topics and encourages networking and sharing information in an environment of mutual interest and support.

Writing and Editing SIG

The Writing and Editing SIG believes technical writing is an art as well as a science. The SIG provides a forum where writers and editors can come together to better understand our common goals. This SIG provides programs and speakers that enhance your communication skills in creating high-quality,  customer-focused documentation that meets customer and reader requirements.
