• Writes a variety of technical articles, reports, brochures, and/or manuals for documentation for a wide range of uses. Tailors level and detail of communication appropriately to meet needs of audience. Revises existing material to incorporate tech writing experience.<br />
• Coordinates the display of graphics and the production of the document. Edits documentation projects for formatting and style standards.<br />

<p>About Our Software Products:</p>
<p>Our product “Fitrix Complete ERP” (www.fitrix.com) is for Linux and UNIX server environments with Windows Thin Clients. The products including a high end SQL database (IBM/Informix), complete source code and software development tools for customizations. The software offers very robust technology, extreme scalability, high reliability, is highly modifiable, and has a very low total cost of ownership (TCO).</p>
<p>Position Description</p>
<p>The position is for a contract technical writer to develop and/or maintain technical documents including user guides, instruction sheets, web site support content, and a wide range of other technically oriented documents as support aids for our customers. The candidate will have access to our products and technologies, our technical staff, and internally generated raw materials documentation from which they will develop technical documentation to be published for our customers use. The candidate will not need to resolve technical issues, but will need to understand the resolution of technical issues in order to communicate these clearly in the documentation.</p>
<p>Key Position Requirements:</p>
<p>• Comfortable working with new technologies and learning software systems.<br />
• Strong listening skills<br />
• Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to communicate technical issues to non-technical users.<br />
• Self starter, able to work independently with low supervision.<br />
• Strong computer skills with Windows, Microsoft Office tools.<br />
• Must be able to become proficient with new software products quickly<br />
• Must be detail oriented<br />
• Must have experience installing and configuring software products<br />
• Some exposure to software development very helpful.<br />
• Excellent Microsoft-Word Skills</p>
<p>Key Job Duties:</p>
<p>• Create and maintain software documentation.<br />
• Develop improvements to software documentation based on feedback from users and our customers.<br />
• Work with engineering, technical support and other departments to ensure that technical documentation reflects current product features.<br />
• Test software products to confirm that documentation matches the product functionality.<br />
• Post documentation to our Website.<br />
• Update Website content.</p>

Responsible for organizing, editing and maintaining documentation and support Business Analysts on the Solutions Architecture team.</p>
<p>Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:<br />
• Organize material and complete writing assignment according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style and terminology<br />
• Use requirements management and other tools to support Solutions Architecture activities.<br />
• Maintain records and files of work and revisions<br />
• Edit, standardize or make changes to material prepared by other writers or establishment personnel<br />
• Responsible for scribing meetings and JAD sessions, capturing elements and details to be included in technical documents</p>
<p>Skill &amp; Experience Requirements:<br />
• 1-3 or 3-5 years of Technical Writing experience, ideally from an enterprise level organization/environment<br />
• Exposure and familiarity with document management tools used for technical writing and requirements gathering, e.g. BluePrint, ALM11, RationalRose Suite, etc. is a plus, not a requirement.</p>
